Elders in Need of Supportive Services: Resources for Program Development
Meeting the long term care needs of American Indian, Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian elders requires weaving supportive services into a comprehensive and accessible network. This Resource Directory is a compilation of grants and funding opportunities identified by the Federal Interagency Task Force on Aging to help Title VI programs expand. Please use this list as a starting place for your research into the types of programs provided by the agencies that form this task force; it is not, however, an exhaustive list. You may find the website links and agency contact information useful to learn of resource opportunities beyond the scope of this database. In addition, you will find that while not all entries are intended specifically for Native American elders, all can be adapted to the programs that serve them.
In addition to federal agencies, there are a number of organizations that provide resources to programs serving elders. Grantmakers in Aging published a directory of these organizations and their respective websites as a starting point for developing programs.
