Whitehouse Conference on Aging
The purpose of the 2005 White House Conference on Aging was to make recommendations to the president and Congress to help guide national aging policies for the next ten years and beyond. The conference which had as its theme: “The Booming Dynamics of Aging: From Awareness to Action,” focused on the aging of today and tomorrow.

National Resource Center on Native American Aging Publications
The National Resource Center on Native American Aging produces a variety of publications, including the Journal of Native Aging and Health, Native Aging Visions Newsletter, Native aging facts, testimony, reports, peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed journals, and other resources.

Nursing Home Compare
Medicaid beneficiaries and families searching for top quality long-term care services can find critical information on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) website. For the first time, information about nursing homes on the Compare Web site will list whether a home is or has been on CMS' special focus facility (SFF) list. The agency's SFF initiative gives heightened scrutiny to nursing homes that have a history of poor performance or repeated violations of state and federal health and safety rules.

National Association of Area Agencies on Aging
The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging has made available resources from "Making the Link: Connecting Caregivers with Services through Physicians." The project is designed to strengthen the ability of Area Agencies on Aging and Native American aging programs to serve family caregivers through a local, state and national campaign that will directly involve physicians in identifying caregivers and referring them to National Family Caregiver Support Program services. Available publications include a "getting started" technical assistance web-based seminar, national project presentations and other related materials. More information.
